Example Content and Preparation

1. Example Content

Thank you for agreeing to give a talk to Manchester Inventors. In order for us to prepare and advertise your talk we require 3 things.

(1) A Title for the talk .
(2) A Short Summary of the content (about 100 words or fewer).
(3) A Picture of decent quality and size to use on our poster.

When we have these we can prepare the marketing material to advertise your talk. An example is given below.

(1) Health & Invention, Put your back into it...
(2) Terry Singleton, one of our Manchester Inventors Group committee members, talks about this invention to alleviate back pain. A "pain free' route to market? Terry describes his experiences in health care invention over the past 25 years.
(3)

This information enables us to product a marketing poster:

2. Preparation

The Manchester Inventors meeting will run from 6pm to 7:45pm so please arrive by 5:30pm in order to set up.

The first 15 mintues allows for people to arrive, settle down and for us to discuss any housekeeping issues. Therefore your talk will start about 6:15pm

A good rule of thumb is to aim to speak for about 30 minutes if possible. This allows us time for Q & A and networking after your presentation.

Most presenters choose to make use of our laptop and projector. Unfortunately we cannot connect USB storage devices to the laptop computer so you will need to email us your presentation several days before the meeting date.

The people who attend the Manchester Inventors meetings are inventive, creative and inquisitive so if you have any good props that you could bring along to pass around this usually works really well. Things like prototypes, products, tooling etc. Don't worry if you don't have anything, your talk is the main reason people will attend.

Thanks again.
